Seeing Red

It’s no secret what colour is dominating in the photos in this post.  That’s right guys, you are seeing red.  Red has always been a power colour and I like to think for both genders.  Red is the must have colour for this season and is certainly a mood lifter.  Although I like the colour red it is not particular first colour of choice.  I’ve only just started getting into the odd red manicure but I really have to be in the mood.  I much prefer a red lip over a red manicure anyway.  I think it’s because it makes my hands look older (eeek!)

I’m sure most women would agree, a red lip makes you feel empowered, strong and that anything is possible.  My red scarf in the first picture is from Primark, and what a bargain at £8.  I was draw to this scarf as I think it compliments my skin tone.  Believe me wearing red is all about finding the right tone of red, to suit your skin tone.  That bright red does not suit everyone.  This scarf has more of an orange tone to it, which compliments anyone with a yellow tone to their skin.  It is super long therefore can be worn in different ways, it is also soft and warm around the neck.  Unfortunatly Primark are no longer selling this scarf but there are alternatives in other stores, e.g. River Island

My red cherry colour jumper is light weight, so would need layering underneath.  Another great way to wear red.  I’ve paired it with jeans and ankle boots for a relaxed casual style, slightly tucked in for a little something different.

And finally the red combo, a cardigan that is also light weight and could be worn over a light turtle neck or vest top underneath.  My favourite and only red scarf teamed with a red lip.  I’m a firm believer that too much of one bright colour might be too much but if it is subtle then you can get away with it.  Especially if paired with other neutral tones, although each to their own.  So why not give red a chance this season even if it is in little doses.
