When I think of a matte lip. I think of a classic lipstick but LÓréal Paris have created a new concept of creating a matte lip. Infallible Matte Max is part of their sculpt collection and comes in 6 shades including nudes, pinks, reds and purple.
Instead of the classic bullet of colour which can be increased in length by a twisting action, LÓréal have created what looks like a fancy felt pen.
Infallible Matte Max is a sleek design quite resembling a felt tip pen with a pretty sponge applicator, which holds the colour and is comfortable to hold. The product is a gel to powder formula.
The product can be layered to build intensity or used to create an ombre look. It claims up to 8 hours wear but of course after eating and drinking I found myself reapplying. It also claims it isn’t drying. I love the matte lip look but also love moisturised lips and although this product gives off a great matte look I did not find it drying like other brands I have tried. The product feels light weight as if not wearing anything and gives the lips a soft finish, so be sure to ex-foliate as dry chapped lips are more noticeable with matte products.
I must say it was not clear to me how to get more product on the applicator. I shortly realised by placing the pen half way in the lid you can create a pumping action which dispenses more product onto the sponge end.
I decided on the colour 006 Disturbia as I found it to be a little lighter than the red, with orange tones. I found this complemented my skin tone and I absolutely love it.
