Yayy for Summer and yayy for all those gorgeous Sandals, Flats, Slip On’s, Thong Sandals, Espadrilles, FlatForms, Wedges, Jelly Sandals etc. I’m going to be sharing with you my 5 Summer Sandals, a mixture of the above and why I love them!
BOTANICAL SLIP ON’S | MATALAN
As soon as I saw the botanical slip on’s in Matalan, I was actually in two minds about it mainly because I thought, this look belongs on the beach. But how wrong was I? This style of slip on sandal is one of my firm favourites for this Summer. It is slightly out of my comfort zone, with the bow and botanical look. But I am super surprised at how well this style goes with everything in my wardrobe. It looks great with jeans, skirts, dresses, skirts, shorts, leggings you get the idea. I always have so much fun wearing this. A fun way to dress an outfit!
THONG FLATS | H&M
Now what doesn’t a simple black thong sandal go with? I was originally looking for a very, very simple thong sandal, and ended up finding this vegan one from H&M. It is slightly different from a plain thong sandal with the adjustable straps at the back hugging the foot. This thong sandal can turn a Summer outfit in to a causal, yet classy look without even trying!
LACE FLATFORMS | PRIMARK
I must admit personally, I was never a fan of white shoes, trainers yes but not shoes. But strolling through Primark one day (on purpose, even though I should be saving the pennies right now!) These bright white flatforms caught the corner of my eyes. And I’m so glad they did, how cute are they! I was looking ( at least I think I was) for a pair of flatforms and these are the perfect pair. There is something so fresh about owing a pair or white Summer shoes. The only thing that puts me off (on all white clothing) is the thought of someone stepping on them (eek). I can guarantee, the moment I step out of the house, something will get on it (dicing with danger). I was already sold on the fact they are flatforms but if you look closely, you’ll see the pretty leaf lacing all over. Just look at the sun glaring off of these babies! They were just to adorable to have left on the shop shelves. that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
JELLY SANDALS | PRIMARK
Now for me this IS a blast from the past. I was also a kid of the early 90’s and had my fair share of jelly shoes, and loved every minute of it. A quick fact – I insisted to my Mum, on wearing them on a particularly cold day and it just so happened to chuck it down with rain AND hail stones. But I still enjoyed wearing them and that’s the main thing. Now as much as it is fun to take a trip down memory lane. And as cute as these sandals are. They really aren’t a practical sandal. These ones in particular (sorry Primark – take note) These sandals don’t leave much for flexi movement. So in return made my feet a lot sore. Also your feet hella sweat! But if your looking for something cute then this is the one. Clear jelly shoes with tiny specks of sliver glitter, just enough to add a bit of bling in the sun, without over doing it. A great pair of sandals to wear at the beach or park.
SEQUINED ESPADRILLES | MATALAN
I got these sequined espadrilles, last Summer and don’t regret it one moment. I did think these were a bit much for me at first, but I thought f**k it, you only live once! I feel in love with the multicoloured sequins, the rope and the black trim around the shoes. I love to wear this sequined gem when the rest of my outfit is simple. I think these beauties should be left to do the styling. I have a new love for espadrilles and find them to be quite comfortable.
