Fenty Beauty came into our lives and filled a gap in the Beauty market, that clearly needed filling in more shades than one, (did you like that?). Although not a vegan product but a cruelty free one, RnB star and business woman Rihanna has really stepped up with this launch.
FENTY FOUNDATION | SHADE 420
The sad truth behind my Fenty Beauty purchase is, at the time I was working in London, I got released early because of a terrorist attack on London Bridge where I worked. I did not know at the time how bad it was, just that there was an attack and a lot of things had been locked down on an emergency.
So on this tragic day I ventured back home to safety, where I stopped off at Canary Wharf and purchased my first Fenty Beauty product, that being a foundation in the shade 420.
So I have wanted this foundation for quite some time, so two years after its debut I finally got my hands on it and I couldn’t of been more happier. Also on the day of purchase, I was matched up to my perfect shade in 420 by a lovely makeup artist, whom I found to be very helpful and informative.

WHY FENTY FOUNDATION ?
Well with all the hype, I thought it was a product that must be worth buying, you know the saying you don’t know until you try, right? So I tried and I liked…very much and still love it now.
I love using my Fenty foundation, not just because the shade is perfect for me but I feel it looks quite natural on me too. It is my go to foundation (and currently the only foundation I own right now). As I only wear foundation at the weekend (when the mood takes me), there is no point in me stocking up on a whole load of foundation I would not get around to using so, here we are.

As I was saying the Fenty foundation gives me that natural almost skin look and feel. It feels light weight and very comfortable for an all day wear. And speaking of all day wear, it holds up very well to 8 hours (in my experience). It wears well in the sun but granted we naturally sweat in the heat, the foundation gets the dewy look over time. Which I like even though the foundation is a soft matt product. To overcome the dewy look, you could blot away the dew with makeup blotting papers or reapply with finishing powder.
If I am honest, I used to apply this foundation with a beauty sponge and it took a while for me to get used to the look, but I found myself loving the foundation even more when I switched from the beauty sponge to a foundation brush. I found it made all the difference to my look, I wanted to achieve. NO surprise break outs, no creasing, flaking and it does not clog my pores!

THE BEST PRACTICE 101
I find the best practice when applying a matt foundation, is to exfoliate your face before to remove dead skin. That way you are sure to have a great base to start with. Be sure to moisturise because when the matt foundation does its mattifying job, it will make your skin appear even drier if you have not moisturised before. To prime or not to prime is the question? Some people do not use a primer and in my case it is an absolute game changer! If you want the best out of your foundation and all the other makeup products you’ll put on your face. Then a primer will see it through for the hours you have it on.
