I know what your thinking…Why the heck am I talking about prom dresses in early November. Shouldn’t school dances be over with already? Well I have every good reason to talk about it, with the way of the world and things changing so much and that includes, when to wear your prom dress. Prom dresses aren’t just for that graduation dance or homecoming anymore. It is fast becoming more popular to wear that all important prom dress, for any special occasion. In America, prom season is typically around February and March.
Christenings (believe it or not) a very dressy occasion, birthdays, fancy restaurants and beauty pageants. are all reasons to get dressed up! It is not just for that all American high school girl. That’s right girls, everyone from baby to little girl, sweet sixteen, high school/ beauty queen can be seen wearing prom dresses. There are no restrictions, you only have to scroll through Instagram to see mothers and their mini me daughters (baby or not) wearing a prom or prom style dress.
If someone had asked me to pick a good colour for a prom dress, I wouldn’t of thought of Black Prom Dresses but thinking out of the box. Not only would you look super formal and of course ever so chic. A black dress can be worn over and over again to and for any occasion. I absolutely love the one I’ve picked out from SMP featured below. I know I’ve mention not being a girly girl and I still am not, BUT I would definitely wear this! Sometimes a girl wants to feel like a Princess, a black swan Princess maybe.

Another good colour choice, if you didn’t want to choose black would be a Burgundy Prom Dresses another great deep colour without being too dark. Just look at this Gothic style dress I chose with lace detailing on the front, (drop dead gorgeous). Another great alternative if you love wearing red!
I find the lace detailing to be very feminine and suites the occasion, for something special. Again the halter neck, leads to a very elegant look and shows of the neck and shoulders, if that is your thing! A slim line, floor length look, to make anyone feel like a true princess.
