My time in prison…only through the eyes of a television. 5 years later and i’m still totally gripped, by the lives of the female inmates of Litchfield Prison! If you haven’t heard of “Orange Is The New Black” (OITNB), an exclusive Netfix series original to Netfix. Then where have you been? OITNB is and continues to be a strong show in it’s own right.. I can only imagine how it must look on a HDR TV PANASONIC. There is nothing quite like watching your favourite film or show in HDR. A crystal clear image of your favourite inmate. Following the life of the main character Piper Chapman. Who’s choices in life, lead her down a path she thought she would never end up. Pipers choices has lead to her learning about herself, in a way she probably did not imagine in her early years. Not only do you learn about Piper but her inmates back stories as well, which leads you to bond with each character. OITNB, makes for an excellent gripping, sexual, emotional, funny, heart warming and dangerous show.
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
I am especially inspired by Piper Chapman story. From the outside Piper looks like an average beautiful blonde, blue eyed, leggy working class woman. On the flip side, through Pipers choices. Piper goes from being a kind, sweet level headed business owner. To finding her darker and hardier side of herself. Throughout the series Piper will do anything it takes to protect herself and the ones she loves. Piper almost becomes a shadow of her former self. In all I think what i’m trying to get at, is that. It is always amazing, how well you think you may know yourself. Until you encounter the wrong or right person in your life. And how the lives of these people and situations, can bring out the best or worst in you. These chance encounters, can really mould you into a totally new person. Could you handle that?
THE COLOR PURPLE
I have watched the roles of many, many female characters over the years. Each one with their own story and strength to bring to the table. But if it is one female character story that holds firm in my memory, it would be Celie from “The Color Purple” If you watch this film by Steven Spielberg (one of our greatest directors of the 20th century). Then buy the whole of Kleenex tissues from your local store, because your going to need them…and some snacks (don’t forget the snacks) A gripping heartbreaking tale of a young black African American girl, who’s life starts of bad from the very beginning. Set in the early 20th century in Georgia. I’ll never forget Celie and her optimism, to get through her hardship from day to day. To one day seeing her Sister Nattie again and to live life as a free woman. To me Celie, represents a woman of strength and endurance.

WHAT I’LL BE WATCHING IN 2018
As much as some of us may not want to admit it BUT yes, the year is slowly wrapping up. And here are my 2018 films I can not wait to see, before the year is through!
FANTASTIC BEAST AND WHERE TO FIND THEM 2 – THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD – If your a Harry Potter fan and have the robe like I do (man that was expensive) or have a love for fantasy, magic and all things strange then this is your film.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY – If your a Queen/ Freddy Mercury fan, then I think you owe it to yourself to watch this. If you don’t you’ll just be “another one bites the dusk” #notsorry.
HOW TO – A COSY NIGHT IN
My cosy night in starts with a hot shower, followed by a pamper session of manicures and indulgent body butters and perfume (because I do wear perfume to bed, like Marilyn Monroe). A comfy onesie or PJ set (something cute). A large mug of vegan hot chocolate (vegan whip cream optional, you’d be crazy to say no). Fairy lights and candles everywhere. Snuggled up to my Hunny. If he’s not around then my two cats Alice and Marmite or Luna my sisters Maltese dog will do! Then voila my choice of film, Comedy, Sci-Fi , Action or Fantasy.
5 BEST BOOK TO SCREEN ADAPTIONS
THE COLOR PURPLE – A young African American girl, whos early and young adult years are plagued by incest, racism, discrimination and other heartbreaking issues.
HARRY POTTER – A young boy wizard. Who has adventures with his two best friends. All the while trying to keep out of harms way, from – HE, who should not be named.
GONE WITH THE WIND – A romance set against an American Civil War, love lost and horror.
BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN – Two young men start a love affair, while on their trip away. Trying to keep it a secret from their wives and children, this proves to be heartbreaking.
BABE – A piglet is rescued from becoming Christmas dinner by it’s Farmer. Only to surprise the Farmer as a competent sheep dog, while making friends.
