Firstly, if you live in the UK then you definitely know of Superdrug. Yeah you the one, on almost every high street. And as you may have noticed over the years, Superdrug has been housing more and more different makeup brands, that being MUA (Make Up Academy).
THE EVENT
I had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of MUA new foundation #PROBASE. Well let me tell you, the last time I was invited to an event was 2 years ago. And in this blogging world that can seem like a life time ago! So before I could say central London, I gladly accepted. Over all it was a buzzing evening. Lots of networking, drinking (one or too many cocktails on my half), nibbling and of course make overs, from the talented MUA make up artist.
PRO/BASE FOUNDATION £5.00 AND PRO/BASE CONCEALER £2.50
MUA are celebrating their Pro/Base long wear matt finish foundation and concealer. Which they are proud to say come in 24 shades to suit most. And is full coverage. Infused with vitamin E and keeps the shine at bay all day. There are currently 8 shades of dark, medium and light. The concealer itself is crease proof, silky soft and again easily buildable.
PRO/BASE PRIMER OIL WITH GOLD FLAKES AND PRO/BASE MATTIFYING FLAWLESS PRIMER £4.00 each
If it’s a dewy finish your after then this gold flake primer, will not disappoint. Not only does it look super pretty (I wish I had more) but it absorbs into my skin really well. Leaving me looking radiant.
Most primers I’ve tried in the past don’t have a scent. But this mattifying primer smells a little like coconut, which is gorgeous to go with the luxury feel. The primer smooths on perfectly and has a long staying power. It has smoothing spherical powders to help create a flawless look with vitamin E.
PRO/BASE SOFTENING FACIAL OIL STICK AND PRO/BASE MAKE UP REMOVER STICK £5.00 each
The softening facial oil is a perfect way of hydrating the skin. As it is a solid it last a long while too. For a smooth complexion, it is best used after your daily cleansing routine.
The make up remover stick should be called a magic stick. It works perfectly at removing my make up. I really was quite surprised. My eye area is quite sensitive so I still remove my eye make up gently with an eye pad.
FOUNDATION BRUSH F1 AND PRO MAKEUP BLENDING SPONGE £3.00 each
The foundation brush is perfect for applying liquid or cream foundation. The tapered edges are great for hard to reach areas e.g hair line, around the eyes, nose and mouth. The blending sponge creates a soft look with a easy blending complexion application. I do love the sponge but the brush is becoming another firm favourite.
PRO/BASE COOLING SPRAY £4.00 AND MAKE UP BAG (event only)
Well the name says it all really. This cooling spray can be used on it’s own or over make up. Great to use throughout the day, if you just want to feel refreshed whilst wearing your make up. Hold 10 cm away from the face with eyes closed. A perfect pick me up in your bag. And speaking of bags this make up one is pretty cool, but created for the event, MUA do sell other make up bags, which are just if not more practical.
BONUS
PRO/BASE WATER BOTTLE
Key word being WATER. You can never have to much of it. If you want your skin to stay looking flawless. Or improve your skin overall health, then drink plenty of water…now if only I can take my own advice!
Although this metal bottle was produced for event only purpose. These types of water bottles can be purchased in most home stores.
All MUA make up is very affordable, as you have seen here and can be purchased online as well as in store.
