Eating out can be a fun activity, whether it’s done with family or friends but the quest to try and find a place, that offers healthy home cooked food can be tricky (especially trying to go Vegan/Plant based). There’s nothing worst than going to a restaurant with friends and feeling left out, because your dietary requirements don’t fit in with the menu or your friends aren’t willing to try new things. Although, saying that London restaurants have now recognised there is a market for vegans/ plant based lovers and are now offering vegetarian/ vegan food.
It was my family who recommended the restaurant Tibits and I am glad I went. At first it looks like a expensive place, this is due to the stylish décor. I must say I was worried about the dress code but once you notice the staff and their uniform, you soon realise it is actually a relaxed and down to earth environment. So even though you could dress up to the nines, a casual smart look is also welcomed (although I did see a few people who looked like they were going to the gym : ) .
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very chilled, calm, welcoming, relaxing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One of the things I noticed was the lovely buffet area. The buffet service station is shaped like a wooden boat which I thought was a lovely centre piece. The restaurant is over two floors with an alfresco area and even has a kiddies section on the ground floor.
The food, oh the food, absolutely yummy. Not only is it healthy but has that home cooked style to it. The buffet choices were many, creating for different combinations. Amongst the choices were Malaysian udon noodles, Spanish spring tortilla, Wild berry bake and chia-coconut pudding (Chia-coconut pudding was delicious : ) . A variety of drinks are available but I chose a juice called ‘Red Fitness’ that consist of apple, blackcurrant, fennel and lemon, which left me feeling energised.
All food from the buffet has to be taken to the till, where you will be charged according to the weight of the plate, not having to worry about paying the bill after.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tibits and definitely recommend anyone to go! Especially on a vegan Tuesday.
