If your not sure what you should be wearing this Autumn, maybe you should give florals a chance. If you thought florals were only for Spring/ Summer you are mistaken. Florals are in full swing or should I say full bloom for this season and next. That’s right florals have been destined for Autumn and Winter and show no signs of slowing down. Florals have been all over the catwalks of London, New York and Paris.
If your like me and thought it would be silly, to pounce on the streets of London wearing florals. Then don’t be. I’m not talking all bright pink and yellow florescent. Some are bright and some are Autumnal colours on a black or coloured background, like my bag featured in this post.
I like to keep in theme with Autumn, and wear the darker shades of florals against a darker backdrop. The floral trend can also be found in the form of Lace another hot trend of Autumn / Winter (but when is it not). Florals can even be seen in two piece suits as well as pretty dresses, jumpers, skirts, shirts etc.
Well you guys know I love Matalan. So it’s no surprise, the top featured in this post is from…Matalan. Still staying on trend, not only does this top have beautiful embroidery flowers in baby pink, blue and green. It also has cut out shoulders (aka cold shoulder) and ruffles around the neck line, shoulders and wrist. The top also has a cute key hole feature on the back. The fabric is light weight and great for summer but can be layered.
The pretty bag featured, is right on trend falling in line with a bucket style bag but with a pull string front. Looks may be deceiving as the bag looks small but is surprisingly very roomy. You could easily fit an Ipad, phone, small camera and purse (even some snacks) and still have room. The bag has an adjustable strap, so it can easily be worn as a shoulder or cross body bag (cross body bags are still in people and I love them). There is gold detailing on the strap. The fabric feels faux suede and the embroidery is the feature of the bag, which I feel in love with.
